House Soccer Rules====Sport Zone 2007-2008

These rules are designed for:

1.      Safety

2.      To allow maximum playing time for players

3.      To keep the games on schedule

Our goal is to provide quality playing time for all players and teams. Our aim is to ensure that all teams will be matched in skill. Teams will be placed and matched by ability according to outdoor standings and results of seeding. Scores and standings are not tracked due to open rosters.

Safety:

1.      Teams are not allowed on the field unless it’s their game.

2.      Before the game and after the game you can not be on the sidelines nor on or near the end zones.

3.      Pre and post game meetings must be in the bench areas.

4.      During play, players must show restraint when running near the sidelines due to the narrow width of the out-of-bounds area.

5.      Parents and spectators are not allowed on the side.

Eligibility:

1.      Players must sign a sport zone roster waiver to be eligible to be on the field or bench.

2.      Rostered players on one team may play on a roster for another team.

Team Play:

1.      Teams may choose either bench.

2.      The guest team (listed second) must wear the alternate jersey in case of color clash. Teams are responsible for alternates.

3.      The number of field players is 9v9 (including the keeper) for all age groups except U18/19 Boys Division which is 8v8 (including the keeper).

Field Play:

1.      Outdoor USSF rules apply except for the following modifications.

2.      Slide tackling the ball from an opponent is illegal.

3.      An offside is called but only in the area 18 yards from the goal line. The top of the penalty box is 18 yards out from the goal line. Goalkeepers may slide in their own goalie box as long as it is not in a dangerous manner.

4.      Subbing is unlimited. Subbing is on the fly. The game never stops for subs.

Running Clock:

1.      The clock is a continuous 45 minute period. This time includes half time break and turn around time between games.

2.      Your game time starts immediately upon the conclusion of the previous game.

3.      Teams should be at the assigned field ahead of the scheduled game time. Every minute of playing time is precious. Please be ready to take the field the moment the previous game is done.

4.      Teams should warm up and stretch under the deck area prior to the game time.

5.      Coaches should talk and make assignments prior to entering the field.

6.      In the case of an injury that delays play, the referee will indicate the game time if there is a time change.

7.      The management reserves the right to terminate and reschedule any game that has a lengthy delay due to injury.

8.      Teams may elect to take a half time break or change ends immediately at the half time whistle. Limit your half time coaching.

9.      At the conclusion of the game, teams may shake hands and then quickly vacate the bench area to allow for the incoming teams. Please use sidelines to leave the field area.

Guidelines:

1.      Check your schedule for East vs. West field assignments. As you stand at concessions and face the fields, the East field is on the left and the West field is on the right.

2.      Parents and spectators are encouraged to watch the games from the upper deck for the best view.

3.      As a courtesy to your opponent, if your team can not make it to a scheduled game, notify the management so that they can arrange for a substitute team.

4.      See www.sportzonepark.com for the latest schedule updates.

5.      While at the field, check the posted schedules.

Rescheduled Games:

1.      Rescheduling games is very difficult.

2.      Coaches can not reschedule games.

3.      Only the management has the authority to change games in the event of an emergency situation.

4.      All normal requests for schedule adjustments should be submitted in writing no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of a league.

5.      Special requests will be considered, however we may not be able to honor any of your requests.
